Susannah Temko is a policy and communications expert focused on: increasing positive visibility of the intersex community, highlighting the need for intersex human rights and campaigning for equality for intersex people in medicine and civil society.

Susannah distills this multifaceted topic to diverse audiences, increasing intersex positive visibility. Recent successes include interviews with Sky News, the New York Times, BBC, The Times, and becoming the first intersex face of Dove’s #WomenGetTold and #BeautyPortrait campaigns.

She has also lectured and given evidence at leading universities and institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge, the London School of Economics & Political Science, the UK Government Equalities Office, the UNHRC and the UNHCR.

In 2015, she was recognised in the Independent on Sunday’s Rainbow List, celebrating the 101 most influential LGBT+ people in the UK. She currently works with intersex organisations in the UK and USA.

Previously, she has worked in Facebook’s Public Policy team, at the Carnegie Middle East Centre in Beirut, and at campaigns consulting firms in London.

She is a graduate of the London School of Economics & Political Science and Durham University.
